Analytical Data and Process Modelling

During our history in process development we have developed expertise in specialist analytical and modelling techniques including:

VLE Determination - We have a unique facility for VLE determination of multi component systems. This is central to our ability to model and design complex distillation systems.

Reactive frontal chromatography - For the determination of reaction mechanisms and thermodynamics for gas phase catalysed reactions.

Temperature programmed reduction, -oxidation, -adsorption and -desorption
These enable determination of catalyst physical properties such as total surface area and active metal surface area.

Continuous on-line DCS data capture - This ability for real time capture of multi-stream process data is vital in the thorough validation of new chemical processes.

On-line mass spectrometry - Our instruments can measure up to 32 masses simultaneously.  We use a wide range of standard analytical techniques including: GC Mass Spectrometry, IR Spectroscopy, HPLC, GLC, XRF, Atomic Absorption, Carbon Furnace Atomic Absorption and Elemental Analysis.

In addition to experimental data we employ a range of simulation tools and physical modelling techniques in our process development. Examples include CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics), ASPENTM and PRO IITM. All of these techniques are available to our clients for custom development projects.  To contact us and for more information please use the links on the right.
